Big Kids!

Yesterday, Jordan had her 3 year old check up, and Ryan had his 6 month old check up. Here are their stats: Jordan now weighs 33 lbs, and is 37 inches tall! That puts her in the 50th percentile for height, and the 75th percentile for weight. Baby Ryan now weighs a whopping 20 pounds 2 ounces, and is 26.5 inches tall!!! That puts him in the 80th percentile for weight, and about the 40th percentile for height. Both kids are growing so big, and they are perfectly healthy! Jordan does need to follow up with another eye exam because she is still seeing better out of one eye, but that's about it.

YAY for being healthy!!

The kids were due for some spring pictures, as well as Jordan's 3 yr pics, and Ryan's 6 month pics. So, I bought them some cute spring outfits, and then decided to take some pics myself at a park. I also took them to a portrait studio to have more taken, but I also like the ones I took. Here are some of my favorites from yesterday...

Rainy Day Dress Up

Yesterday it rained literally all day long. We stayed cozy inside. Which meant I had to come up with lots activites to keep the kids busy. One of the things Jordan wanted to do was dress up in one of her new princess dresses. (If you can't tell, the princess thing is HUGE to three year old girls!) She insisted that I take her picture, which I'm sure I would have done anyway! ; )

Can you believe it? Ryan is already halfway to his first birthday! I'm a little late on this blog entry, he actually turned 6 months on Friday, February 27th. : )

I don't have his height and weight stats yet, his well baby check up isn't until next week. But I will update for sure!

Ryan has mastered sitting up all by himself. He has been introduced to baby food, and his favorites are sweet potatoes and green beans. Ryan's favorite place to be is on Mommy's hip, Mommy's lap, anywhere with Mommy! He is slightly attached to his mama. ; ) One thing Ryan has not mastered is sleeping through the night. He is getting better, but we are still waiting for that morning we wake up and realized he slept all night long! : )

For her birthday, we got Jordan her first pair of roller skates. She has been obsessed with roller skating lately, but has never tried it before. So I knew she would be excited! That night, after her bath, she insisted on trying them on and skating. So we put them on, and the whole time a HUGE grin on her face! : ) She is WAY too confident, and thought she could just take off on her own! She askes everyday to put them on, and we do have a little skate session everyday where I pull her around the house.

Princess Party

This year, we decided to have a Princess Party to celebrate Jordan's birthday. It was a small group of girls, and they each came dressed as a beautiful princess! They got their face painted with a pretty heart, made bath salts, played princess games, and had a royal time! they all looked so adorable, and Jordan had a wonderful time!

Today Jordan turned 3 years old. Last night I blew up dozens and dozens of balloons and put them in her room after she went to sleep. So when she woke up this morning, I ran in with my camera and greeted her with "Good Morning and Happy Birthday"!

Tuesday evening, Tim took Jordan to Leatherby's Creamery for our playgroup's "Daddy/Daughter Date Night". All day Jordan was so excited to go get ice cream with Daddy. They had a great time, and Jordan came home with a sugar buzz! : )

New Sand at the Playground!!

Obviously, the park we visit the most is the one right across the street from our house. Today on our walk we noticed a new sand pit, complete with toys to ride on! Now we have to get some sand toys and bring them with us from now on. Notice the mound of sand Jordan was gathering, she told me she was making a castle. : )

Rub a dub dub, two kids in the tub...

Today, I gave both kids a bath together for the first time. It was so much easier to bathe both of them at once, and I think this is the way I'll do it from now on. Ryan enjoyed it, well I should say he "tolerated it". Jordan dumped water on his head and was splashing him most of the time. So he did well condsidering! : ) I had to put his bathtub in there until he can sit up better on his own, and Jordan thought it was a boat. She was jealous, and I think she wanted to sit in the "boat" too! : )

Stop by Jordan's Market today for all your grocery needs!

We found this little pretend marketplace at Target yesterday marked down from $60 to $15! I love a good deal, so this has kept Jordan VERY entertained these past 24 hours (hopefully for a longer). : ) Jordan sells ice cream, candy, cookies, and apples! Bring the credit card, because yesterday she told me that the ice cream cost $50, and when I asked for an apple, she said that cost $40! HA She also has a little cash register, so she has quite the little business now.

A Whole 5 Months Old!

Today Baby Ryan is 5 whole months old!! His favorite things this month are chewing on everything, smiling/laughing at almost everything, and watching his big sister play. He also loves to sit up by himself and play. He is NOT a fan of 'tummy time', but we're working on that. We still have yet to sleep through the night, but we're working on that too. ; )

Baby's First Cereal

We gave Ryan his first taste of rice cereal mixed with formula on Monday evening. He loved it, and ate a lot more than I expected! This boy has quite the appetite, (if you couldn't tell by looking at him)! ; )

I was hoping it would help him stay full longer and sleep longer at night, but that was not the case. So, we'll try again next week.

The weather has been so nice. Today, I took the kids to the park by my mom's house, and my sister met us there. It was the first time I put Ryan in his stroller without his infant carseat. Such a big boy! He loved it, and also loved sitting next to me on a blanket watching Jordan and Auntie play. I love the park, and it was a perfect day to be at the park. : )

Yesterday, we had Jordan and Ryan baptized at St. Clare's Church. It was such a perfect day, the weather was gorgeous and we spent the afternoon with friends and family. Ryan's Godmother is now Aunty Nina, and our cousin Derek for his Godfather. Jordan's Godmother is our cousin Krysta, and her Godfather is Tim's good friend John.

Thank you to everyone who made this day so special for us.

That would be big boy Ryan! He will be 5 months old in about a week and a half, and he is getting pretty good at sitting up by himself. He can sit up for about 30 seconds at a time. Jordan sat up by herself around 6 months I think, so he's doing good! Enjoy a little snip! : )

It's like passing the torch or something...I started dance at the age of 5, and now my own baby girl is starting her first dance class next week. It's a combination of ballet, tap, and gymnastics. I'm so excited for her, and know that she will love it!! I was just as excited to buy Jordan her first pair of ballet and tap shoes. It was a proud mommy moment for sure. I'm surprised I didn't take the camera into the shoe store to document it! LOL

Ryan has only fallen asleep with a pacifier maybe 3 times his whole 4 months of life. Today was one of those times, and I thought he looked so sweet. I realized I haven't taken any pictures of him sleeping (like a did almost everyday for baby #1). So I did. And here he is, my sweet little cuddly wuddly little boy!

SUCCESS!!!!

We are there! After nearly a year of on-again-off-again potty training, we finally got together and made it happen. We started two weeks ago by keeping her in diapers and just setting an egg timer for every 30mins or so and making her go sit on the potty. DID NOT WORK! We had many, many accidents in that week and a half. We were not seeing much progress, and was very frustrating for all of us.
Then, I decided to just make her be naked (no pants/underwear/diapers) at all. TOTALLY WORKED! She told us before she went, and consistently! Today is day 6 of underwear at home, and she has only had 3 accidents total. On the second day, she even woke me up at midnight to tell me she had to go potty! We are so proud of her! (And also proud of ourselves for finally figuring out what was going to work!) This was definitely a family effort. One down, one to go... ; )

Dinner and a game

I love date nights! Last night, we went on a double date with Cassie and George. We went to dinner and the Kings game. It was a much needed night out, and the longest we've been out without the kids in a long time. : ) Since the Kings were losing by like 40 points most of the game, my attention was focused on Michael Phelps, who was at the game! So cool!

4 months old

Little Ryan is 4 months old today! Earlier this week he had his 4 month check-up, and he is still growing like crazy. He now weighs 16lbs 9oz, and is 24.5 inches tall! He smiles and laughs easily, and loves to blow raspberries. He is our happy baby! Love you little guy xoxo

A very merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Santa was very good to the kids! I think Tim and I will start a new tradition of buying our own gifts next year, as this year we are going to return everything we bought for eachother. (don't know how we got so bad at buying for eachother!) haha

We went to Grandma's house on Christmas Eve to exchange gifts with them, and then headed home to wait for Santa. Jordan had a hard time going to sleep, she kept looking out her window and wanted to see him. It was adorable! Then Christmas morning, she remembered, and first words out of her mouth were, "I didn't get to see Santa." She was disappointed that she had missed him, but quickly got over it when she saw all the presents he left for her!

Tea time with the girls (and Ryan)!

Today, we went to A Dash Of Panache for a tea party to celebrate my birthday. It was a cute little place where we had delicious tea in adorable little tea pots (pink lemonade for Miss Jordan), homemade heart-shaped scones, and cute little cinnamon rolls. We also got to play dress up in their Vanity Closet. Jordan had fun trying on several different outfits. See pics below of us looking oh-so-fabulous!

25 years young

Yesterday was my 25th birthday. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, it was a great day. My mom and sister came over in the morning with presents, that of course, Jordan helped me to open. My mom got me a new phone! Thank you again so much!! (If you all remember, my phone broke a while ago into 4 pieces, and I had been borrowing one from my mom ever since) And my sister got me a cute nursing cover! Greatly appreciated, as I never got around to buying myself one. Tim came home with balloons and flowers, and it only took Jordan about 10 seconds to claim the balloons as hers! I belive her exact words were, "Oh, for me? Thank you Dada!" LOL

Tim and I went out to dinner, leaving the kids at Grandma's. We ended the night with some yummy birthday cake (made by my sis). Funfetti cake with pink frosting and purple sprinkles (me in a nutshell)! : )

'Tis the season

Last weekend we got our Christmas tree. It's a perfect little tree, and I think it's one of the best we've ever had! The smell of a fresh Christmas tree is one my favorites! Jordan started out excited about helping to decorate it, but quickly lost interest. So once again, I ended up being the sole tree-decorator. But that's ok, it's a job I'll gladly take. : )

Our trip to the North Pole!

We've seen the movie, read the book, and now took the train ride ourselves!

Last week, Jordan stayed up until 10pm watching The Polar Express movie, and LOVED it! It's her new favorite movie. That was the first time she has ever sat and watched an entire movie start to finish. Since then we've been reading the book. And perfect timing, because today we went on the Polar Express train ride in Old Sacramento.

It was amazing! I had as much (if not more) fun than Jordan did!! I absolutely love to see Jordan get so excited, and to share her excitement with her! And I cannot wait to go again next year. We have definitely added this to the list of Christmas traditions for our family!

She's Crafty

Jordan is really into arts & crafts lately. So I'm always looking for fun little projects we can do. Yesterday, we made Fruit Loop necklaces. Jordan had made one at school before, so I knew she could do it. It was fun, and we BOTH found ourselves snacking on them before we were finished! : )

Brotherly Love

Jordan has become very fond of her little brother. She likes him to be in her room with her, and wants him to nap with her. Today, I put him down on her bed, and she jumped right in next to him and wanted to read him a book! She even picked out a book with babies on it because, "This one has babies, he'll like it!" Too sweet. She then brought him all of her stuffed animals (which are her prized possession). And Ryan is fascinated with her as well. He always smiles at her, and loves to hear her talk to him. I'm glad they are getting along.

The Artist In Jordan

Jordan has become very clear about what she's drawing. She used to always draw either an octopus or a spider and it looked like an octopus or spider. Now she is into drawing cats. I took a picture of the one she drew today, because it really amazed me. She showed me how it has ears, legs, arms, eyes, and a mouth! And it really does! I am so proud of her because I was/am terrible at drawing anything at all. We'll see if she becomes a little artist! ; )

PS, Did you notice the paper AND crayon are blue? That is hands down, Jordan's FAVORITE color!Here is the finished product...A Cat!!!

The Best Job In The World

Last Day

Today was Jordan's last day at Rocklin Preschool. She had 3 months of fun with new friends and new teachers. She loved art time and playing outside, where she was almost always on the tricycles! We'll be back next year, but for now she is going to start her real passion...DANCE!! She's got her momma's love for dancing, and will be starting a dance class soon.

This week while Jordan was in school, Ryan and I spent some quality time together.

He was all smiles, and I was able to grab the camera in time to catch some! Today, I even got a few little giggles out of him! It was music to my ears, next time I'll try to catch it on video. : )

A fireman, a pirate & a baby!

This year, Jordan chose to be a pirate for Halloween. Her costume was made by Grandma of course, and she was the cutest pirate ever! Ryan went as himself this year, an adorable baby boy! : ) And I found a last minute child-sized fireman costume that sort of fit me. : ) We spent the morning at a Halloween party with our playgroup friends. Then we went to the Trick-or-Treat Faire at the community center where Jordan had even more fun (and even more sugar)! By the time we got home, we then witnessed the evil that sugar can do to a 2 year old. Jordan had lost it and was definitely done for the night. I don't think she had ever had that much candy in one day before, and it's not something we'll try again (until Halloween 2009)!!

Let's Get Carving!

Daddy surprised Jordan with a BIG pumpkin to carve! Last year, Jordan was not interested in getting messy with pumpkin carving, but this year was a different story! She had so much fun scooping out pumpkin seeds and yucky stuff. : )

Usually that's MY favorite part, but I guess now it's the kids' turn (or I just have to get my own pumpkin)! ; )

And good job Daddy on making our pumpkin extra spooky this year!

Time Flies When You Don't Sleep!

Doesn't it? Ryan is now 2 whole months old!! At his check-up today, he now weighs 13 lbs. 4oz., and is 22.75"tall. Which puts him in the 40% range for height (average) and in the 90% for weight! The mommy milk agrees with him! ; )

He's finally rewarding us with smiles that melt the heart. He usually always gives Jordan smiles, sometimes Mommy, but he makes Daddy work for them. : ) Ryan 'talks' the most at 2am. So I am the only one who gets to hear it! It's a cute little coo that makes me want to scoop him up and kiss him all over (but I try to refrain, otherwise we'd be up all night, instead of just most of the night!)

So far though, we've decided to keep him! ; )

Apples Apples

That's a favorite book in this house, and we like to think it's about Apple Hill. We made our annual trip to Apple Hill this weekend, and Jordan had oodles of fun! Ryan slept the ENTIRE trip, but he'll catch it next year. ; ) We visited one of our favorite farms, Abel's Apple Acres, where Jordan rode a pony, picked out a pumpkin, ate some apple pie, and most importantly waited 30mins for a balloon animal.

All in all, it was a fun day. And we will probably be heading back up for one more day of apple fun this year!
